The Gurungs have a tendency to live in higher country side , their homeland is central middle hill throughout the Annapurna region. They are Tibeto Burmese people with a unique shamanistic religion that is slowly giving way to Hinduism and Buddhism. It is frequently possible to witness such aspects of Gurungs life during trek  in Gurungs villages, as well Sikles and Ghandruk are the main settlement of Gurungs.

Gurung often serve in the regiments of British and Indian military as wel as Nepal. It is usual to meet ex-soldier on the trekking trail who have served in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and UK.Their salaries and pensions are an important income source. The remaining income is from herding particularly sheep and agriculture, rice, millet, wheat, maize and potatoes.

Gurung men wear the traditional fashion woolen bag which called rhang or bhangra, out of a piece of cotton looped across the soulders. And women, short blouse tied across the front and short skirt of made by cotton matterial and often towel wrapped around their waist and held by a wide belt as well as Tibetan type necklaces.

This trek offers you remote villages which are in beaten track. Especially Sikles is the largest village of Gurungs and beautiful as well, it provides some amazing mountain views of Annapurna ranges, Manaslu and Lamjung.
