Dolpa Region Trekking

The most of the region is protected by Shey Phoksundo National Park, it is covered 3555 Sq Km. It is big part of mid west of Nepal. It is remote and spectacular Himalaya and crystal mountain of Nepal. Doplo is known as a hidden valley also. The villages are Tibetan style, gompas, Bon monasteries and Phoksundo lake give you pride yourself on. The southern part f Dolpo is culturally remains with Hindu and rest most part religiously linked through Tibet.

Dolpa region trekking has been allowed since 1989. Dolpa, trek is divided as two region which called lower Dolpa and upper Dolpa. You need special permit for upper one. It is restricted part of Dolpa. This restricted start form Ringmo village at the southern end of Phoksundo lake. Of course, it is financially more expensive than lower because of special permitted.  Normally, this trek starts from Juphal as well as Jumla and Beni too. And end at the Juphal if you are doing just lower Dolpo trekking which trek included Phoksundo lake as well, not Shey Gompa. Shey gompa lies in upper Dolpo. If you are permitted for upper Dolpa trekking you can finish it at Jmsom. It is not needed to be finish at Jomsom even supposing you have special permit. In Dolpa, Yak is caravan transport and specially trade from Tibet.
