Makalu Region Trekking

Mount Makalu, at a height of 8463m, is the fifth highest mountain in the world. This trek takes us to the Base Camp of this majestic peak. The peak lies in the Makalu Barun National Park, which covers an area of 2330 sq. km. The park that spreads around the Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha districts of Nepal, is rich in terms of wildlife and vegetation. The elusive mountain snow man, known as the ‘Yeti’ has also been reportedly seen in this area.

During the Makalu Base Camp Trek, we follow a trail that begins from a relative lowland and leads us up to a height of 5,000 meters. The Makalu Base Camp is the highest point that we reach in this trek. This trek can be both easy and demanding, depending upon your level of physical fitness.
